Okay- so we made it through a grueling two weeks of no carbs, no fruit and no milk! What did we do to celebrate? Well, it depends on which one of us you are talking about...
Jessica: Went shopping for new (smaller) clothes!
James: Ate a ton of carbs of course! (and now he regrets it!)

It's Day 12 of the South Beach Diet
I've forced James into doing the South Beach Diet with me for the past 12 days, but we are almost through the first phase and are feeling really good! That's not to say we haven't had our weak moments- but we overcame them and haven't cheated once!
I can't believe I haven't had a carb in almost 2 weeks! Unbelievable! I feel great and think I've lost some weight. We didn't start out on the scale because we don't really care about the lbs we are loosing. My goal is to fit into my Seven jeans once again- I haven't tried them on yet. I'm going to do 2 more weeks on the second phase of the diet to see how close I get.
Anyway, just thought I'd share our small, but significant victory during the past 12 days!

OH- it's going to be one of those days!
So, I've never been to Yosemite. It's a tragedy, I know. James and I resolved to go camping in Yosemite this year. Well, they have one of those crazy reservation systems, where you have to book 5 months ahead of time, and they only take reservations one day a month- today happened to be the day they are taking reservations for 5 months from now.
It's crazy and hectic and you feel alot of pressure to get good sites on the good dates. Well, I already blew it by being late- I thought i started at 8 and it started at 7:50. So, I'm rushing through, and long story short, I get a great site for September 12th through the 16th- 5 nights! Great! I'm doing a little dance in my office celebrating my accomplishment, when all of a sudden, it hits me!
James' sister is getting married on September 13th!!! Oh man! What was I thinking?!
It's going to be one of those days, I just know it...

The Sweet Cravings Continue....
Monday night James called on his way home from work to see if I wanted him to stop and get a movie at Blockbuster. I said, hmm...movie might be good, but ice cream would be a whole lot better! I had in mind those fat-free skinny cow ice cream delites! What he brought home was full-on Hagendaz's Carmel Pecan ice cream! I had about two bites before I couldn't take any more. But those two bites were glorious.
For my birthday we went to Outback because they have this delicious fried ice cream birthday treat! Harrison helped blow out the candle for me!
My mom sent me this perfect quote that is hanging in my grandma's kitchen:
Life should not be a journey to the grave, with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive & well preserved body, but rather to skid sideways, CHOCOLATE in one hand DIET COKE in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out & screaming "WOO HOO, what a ride."

The Next Tiger Woods
Two years ago Santa brought Harrison golf clubs and we've been going out a hand full of times. He's progressing very well. He had a beautiful 75-yard drive straight down the fairway on Saturday. We were getting inquiries and compliments about him from all the other golfers out there! We were so proud!
