Fun Field Trips

The last few weekends we have had so much fun exploring some new things in Sacramento. First we took Harrison and Cassidy to the Crocker Art Museum.  Harrison was actually very excited and just kept saying "I've never been to an art museum before" like he was being very sophiscated by going to Crocker.  Crocker is a very old, very wealthy family in the Northern California area.  In fact, they helped connect the railroad from Promintory Point in Utah to San Fransisco, stopping in Sacramento along the way.  So their museum is located in a very historic old mansion near the Capitol in downtown Sacramento.  We all enjoyed the museum but I think Harrison enjoyed running around an old mansion even more.
It was beautiful, but I couldn't take any pictures of the actual art that we saw...go figure.

Okay, next up was the STAR ECO STATION, an ecological preserve here in Roseville.  I took Cassidy, Harrison and the neighbor, Desiree to go check out the exotic reptiles, birds and fish that have been rescued by the Eco Station.  Very cool, very educational, very hands on and the kids loved it.  And I love that it was only $6 for all of us - thanks to GROUPON!
