Baby update

Sadly, the only photos I've taken this month have been of Cassidy, even though we've done a ton of stuff. It could be due to the cold and flus that have taken me down this month, it's one right after another and I'm just finally starting to feel better after a month of being ill. But in any event, here are a few snapshots of the little girl in our lives....

Cassidy has learned how to give us a "laugh" when we do something, like actually try to make her laugh.  You have to work hard for the real laugh with this one.  But she'll give you the fake laugh all day long...and usually does.

She fell asleep in her new "big girl" car seat, so we had to take her out and lay her on the couch. Before, in her baby convertible car seat, we could have just kept her in it while she slept. But now, she actually had to come out of it to take her nap. She survived, but we just want her to stop growing so quickly!

Completely Around The World

James was sent to New Delhi, India on a business trip for 8 days earlier in the month.  He was nervous to be traveling to such a new, different place and was unsure what to expect.  But he absolutely fell in love with all of the people that he met and the food was just outrageously delicious!! He can't pronounce any of the actual plates that were ordered for him at the restaurant, but he is eager to go to our favorite Indian restaurant and try to find everything that he ate in Delhi.  He was working most of the time, but he did get to take a few trips out to see some monuments and do a little shopping for us!

The very gracious and friendly hosts that spent the week showing him the ins and outs of Delhi culture- the people were by far James' most favorite part of his visit, along with the food. He's been craving Indian food ever since he got back!

This is a memorial for every soldier of Indian who has ever lost their life fighting for Indian.  Each individal name gets inscribed on the memorial.  It was an awesome site.

One of the larger markets in Delhi.  James brought back silk scarves, braclets, tea, artwork and ceramic containers.  I'll take pictures to post of those later.

A monkey. Dressed in a skirt.  James wanted to stop to get a picture, he was so excited.  But his friends quickly wisked him away in the process, so that he wouldn't draw too much attention to his tourist status! :)

Believe it or not, this is James' office in Delhi. It's it beautiful- it's completely green and self-sustaining.  It generates it's own power and leaves virtually no carbon footprint.  It's a massive structure out in the middle of the dessert in a suburb of New Delhi.

Okay...This has Mom and me laughing all night long...

 

Grandma B is on her way!! (Soon to be followed by Papa T!)

James is headed to India for a week of hard work and yummy food. So Grandma B and Papa T are coming up for a visit and to lend a helping hand with the kiddos!

Other random thoughts on my mind:
-  No matter where you work- or whether you stay at home- there will be something that you suck at.  Just accept it. My thing is cleaning bathrooms.  Yuck.  And gardening...maybe...I dunno, I've never tried it.
-  It is rather tempting to encourage the kids' manipulative tendencies to help ensure their future Wall Street/Medical School/Law School successes...
- You know you don't want to be in the meeting across the hall when the employee walks into it asking whether he needs a Union Steward Rep with him-- yikes.

We love JANUARY around here!

January is one of our favorite months! We get to kick start our new year's resolution - which always including detoxing from the holiday feasts and sweets. It feels so good to eat fresh, green things again and to exercise almost every day! Yippee for the new year and the motivation it brings us!

We get to celebrate James and his birthday on the 21st and this year we had a great time spoiling him!

Cassidy is becoming quite the eater- she loves fruits and bread and drinking water from her sippy cup. She sits up at the big table and we have family dinners every night.  She loves trying to feed herself and is very stubborn about who should be holding the spoon sometimes....:)

New year- new scouting experiences! Here is the assistant scout master and his new Boy Scout! (And yes that is a Demi Lovato poster in the background, and no, Harrison does not know the whole rehab thing).

Bed and bath routine brings the family together, on my bed every night- its one of my favorite times of the day. Just ignore the messing bedroom surroundings and focus on the clean adorables!
